Tannehill Lodge #52

Tannehill Lodge #52

Organized by a handful of early settlers in 1848 and named for Wilkins Tannehill, Past Grand Master of Tennessee, Tannehill Lodge is the oldest chartered institution in Dallas County. While Dallas, Texas was a mere village, Tannehill Lodge received her Charter from the Grand Lodge of Texas on January 24, 1850, six years before Dallas would become a town. The two-story, frame lodge hall, built by the Tannehill Brethren near the town square in 1852, served the pioneers of Dallas as their town meeting hall for many years.
